How do you keep track of how many students have signed up for different recess-activities?

When the school I was working on were introducing some recess-activities that only a certain amount of students could attend, they asked me if I had a solution where students could sign up for them. I managed to pretty quickly put together a signup system, where teachers are automatically signed up as admins, and students as regular users. The system allows for admins to create "rooms" or activities in general, and set up schedules for when they are available. The system can automatically generate activities in the database, based on the schedules set up. Admins can also mark students as "no-shows" if they sign up, but don't show up. I have plans for a system that will disallow students with a certain number of no shows to be able to sign up to further activities.
